The\u00a0In Vivo Experimental Core Facility<\/strong> (PIV-EXPE), established in\u00a02011, supports research projects from\u00a0CNRS\u00a0and\u00a0university of Bordeaux\u00a0teams. Since\u00a02018, the PIV core facility at the\u00a0Broca site\u00a0has been operational, providing a dedicated space for\u00a0advanced\u00a0in vivo<\/em>,\u00a0in vitro<\/em>, and\u00a0ex vivo<\/em>\u00a0studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PIV-EXPE annexes divisions are an extension of PIV-EXPE Core Facility across the research units floors. It was was created in separate spaces near experimental labs and imaging systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our expertise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As shared resources for the Broca and Neurocampus institutes, the PIV -EXPE operates under the joint leadership of the IMN and IINS Institutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0PIV-EXPE annexes\u00a0are particulary specialized in a wide range of techniques<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Cell culture\u00a0for\u00a0in vitro<\/em> studies,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Slice electrophysiology\u00a0for ex vivo<\/em>\u00a0functional analysis of neural circuits,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Ex vivo<\/em> imaging\u00a0for high-resolution tissue analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The\u00a0PIV-EXPE annexes\u00a0are equipped <\/strong>with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • 4 experimental rooms\u00a0dedicated for tissue collection and preparation,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • 3 experimental rooms for Cell cultures and organotypic slices preparations (Part of Cell Biology Core-Facility),<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • 4 anesthesia stations\u00a0adapted for rodents,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • 5 vibratomes\u00a0for precise brain slice preparation,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Fluorescent dissection microscope,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Animals are housed in the main PIV-EXPE core facility, with a capacity of hundreds of mouse and rat cages in ventilated cages with automatic water delivery systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      A dedicated animal care team ensures their well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
